Hello Barre Belles! We are knocking on summer’s door, which means it’s time for our third annual Barre for Bifida event. So go on and mark your calendars for Saturday, July 19. You won’t want to miss what this year has in store!
We will be hosting a poker run starting in Glasgow at the Houchen’s IGA parking lot at noon. The ride is 100 miles to Barren River Lake where we will enjoy live music from Saint Mayhem and the Lacey Brown Band. A barbecue lunch will be provided as part of the package. You may want to bring a blanket to lie out on the lawn and enjoy the music and sun.
Bikers for Bifida will be the first poker run for our fundraiser. Barre for Bifida was started three years ago after Barre Co. co-owner Jennifer Travelsted lost a beloved cousin, Larissa Branham, who endured spina bifida during her thirty-three years of life. She was a Glasgow native and was adored throughout her community. We would like to keep her spirit alive and help all of the families we can while enjoying a beautiful Kentucky summer day!
The Bowling Green and Glasgow studios will be hosting a donation class on this day as well. All of the proceeds from these events will go to the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky to raise awareness for the debilitating disease and help those who suffer from it. Last year we raised $12,000, and we hope to beat that this year through participation and donations.
The ride will cost $25, or $35 if you would like to purchase a T-shirt as well. You can preregister or register the day of the event. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Bowling Green studio.
